Tax Free Shopping Week Starts Sunday!

Make that list and get ready to shop because Maryland Tax-Free week kicks off this Sunday, August 12^th!

Between August 12th and August 18^th, qualifying apparel and footwear priced at $100 or less, per item, are exempt from the state sales tax when purchased in Maryland!  In addition, the first $40 of a backpack or book bag purchase is also tax-free.  Accessory items, except for backpacks are not included, according to the Comptroller of Maryland.

This is not just for kids going back to school – it’s for any qualifying item of clothing or shoes – anywhere in the state of Maryland (priced under $100).  You will get a 6% discount off your purchase of qualifying items!  However, if you are planning on doing some back-to-school shopping, this is the perfect time to get some tax relief.
